WE ARE HERE. Friday photo diary of our first few months in Bologna. Looking forward to sharing more with you next week! The kids arrived in July and that same week, these hay rolls appeared overnight in the field next to our house. They’re much harder to roll than you think. Long hair with arches. Short hair with arches. Yeah change! Fast friends made the first day of Tennis Camp. There had been no need to fret about it all being in Italian. We heard welcoming shouts of “Gli Americani sono qui!” (The Americans are here!) as we arrived. And by pick up, “Leeee-lou” and “Zo-L” had already managed to learn important words like merenda (snack) and pranzo (lunch), even if they had no idea what the instructors had said to them all day. Picking chick peas at the end of the driveway in August. Taming lions and pigeons in Piazza San Marco as we got to know Northeastern Italy a little better. Wine Harvest in September. Stefan races to fill his bucket and keep up with the pros, before a midday tasting with the vineyard family.
