Fast friends made the first day of Tennis Camp. There had been no need to fret about it all being in Italian. We heard welcoming shouts of “Gli Americani sono qui!” (The Americans are here!) as we arrived. And by pick up, “Leeee-lou” and “Zo-L” had already managed to learn important words like merenda (snack) and pranzo (lunch), even if they had no idea what the instructors had said to them all day.
