The River is Everywhere

“It began in mystery, and it will end in mystery, but what a savage and beautiful country lies in between.”

river 1
Sunset over the river in our backyard. I continue to marvel at the fact that this still, reflective, relatively temperate-looking water was littered with giant ice floes just nine weeks ago.
river3
Looking north on the Hudson at daybreak. The cloud-crowned mountain on the left is called Storm King.

trees
This one’s not of the river, but the Neapolitan-colored trifecta of trees that bloom in our yard each year makes me happy.
river 2
A (southern facing) vista from my weekly Friday morning hikes with Luca and his friends Teddy & Austin (and their mommies). Notice the jelly bean colored mile-long train on the west side of the Hudson.
